thank you ! it is cool to meet somebody chatting french  :D

and I agree with Chronicler : english is a sort or "international" web langage (bu i also read russain with some dictionnary, so those who do not practice (or do not want ) english can write in russian)

I'm big fan of Philip K. Dick, but my French is terrible (I've studied it for two years back in school), so Sable rouge is out of my capabilities. =(
Great writer !!!!
we created with my husband an unofficial rpgame (in french, of course) based on his stories and in his universe (especially The Man in the High Castle) (if needed, i can give you a link to our site, the game can be downloaded free)
about Sable rouge, I do not think an english translation exists , unfortunately :-(

Unknown Armies and Trail of Cthulhu

are popular in France. they are often in the top5 or the top 10 of the favorite games. and, talking popularity, as I notices here, d&d (all versions), warhammer and world of darkness 1 and 2 are very popular too...

**********************************************

Is there any English translation of Capharnaüm?

I do not think so. you can ash the authors ? (http://deadcrows.net/v2/content/view/13/39/  )  or 7Cercle http://www.7emecercle.com/
but if you search for arabian/oriental game, Burning Sands is far better, and it does exist in english. here is the link to french page  (but the game is edited in english)
http://www.legrog.org/jeux/legendes-des-terres-brulees/legend-of-the-burning-sands-en

(by the way, le GROG gives a brief and clear information about every (official and commercial, but also non-commercial jdra) game edited in France. do you have an equivalent for russian games? )

Also you may be interested by exclusive Russian Fiasco playsets (cyberpunk, fairy tales as ex.)

Absolutely !
I try to find if there is something to find on the web, but I saw that Studio101 has licences, books have to be bought, and no purchase outside Russia :-(

if ever you have something "free" .......?

While we are talking about French games, have you ever tried Pavillion Noir? And if you had, whats your impressions about it? I have heard that it has one of the most realistic fencing systems, is it true?

never played by myself, but some of my friends are fan of.  this game is said to be the best about the piratery and the system is clear and quite simple. the background is well-documented and precise.
if ever you have the possibility to play, and if you like navy battles, piratery, epic style, do not hesitate and play  :good:

thank you ! I will go and see that.

about QIN : very good game. chinese world, like the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". you will enjoy it, certainely ! (somehow, you will perhaps need to complete this book by reading chinese mythologie)

if you like such games, or cross-over games, it may be possible with 7th sea( europe, but the magic is not well treated to my mind, but the game is still good), Burning sands (oriental/arabian world), Five rings (japan-like, with samurai, bushido ...)

Unknown Armies
and Trail of Cthulhu are not french games, but translations.

Unknown Armies
edited first by the american Atlas Games and then the french translation by Le Septième Cercle
UA is popular, of course, especially when it was edited (like every new game); and the great Ancient Cthulhu is still popular too, especially now, with the new edition of the game in 20 books or something like that (Call of Cthulhu 30th anniversary edition (2011)).
by the way : CthulhuTech sounds great ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CthulhuTech
and Delta Green not bad also : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Green
cocerning systems, I prefer Chaosium system (more intuition, more simple ...) than 20dice system (less adapted to this particolar game).

among games edited by Le Septième Cercle (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Septi%C3%A8me_Cercle), I tried :
- Sable rouge (french game) (=red sand), inspired by Ph k Dick, Ghosts of mars... among others. I do not thing it has been translated (if you have a french-speaker, you may try)
- KULT (swedish horror game, that I really like) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kult
- Little Fears : you play small children, horror game
- read a bit Capharnaüm : not very good, Burning sands is far better

well, well .... I will look for russian  creations !  :)

hello !

as my (quite) bad english shows, I'm a french RPG player, and I read/understand a little russian. In France, we have a lot of american games, a lot of french ones, and very few "others", but no russian !

so, I ask for help : if you can advice me russian games (down in the topic or in private message), commercial games and also non-commercial (rpg-a with "a" for "amateur" , любитель (thanks g**gle translation), and if possible, a ling for the page of presentation, or a link for downloading ......

and if you want to learn more about french players, do not hesitate  !

 :)

hello !

this game is very popular among french rpg players (Florence Magnin did the drawings), and personnally, I find it really amusing and fun (I've only teste the first edition) !
you can also play with young people, children, and those who never played rpg at all.
so, I recommend it to all players.  :good:

hello !

(I read russian, but not very well ...)

your idea reminds me of :
- The Call of Cthulhu, Chaosium system of rpg, and especially CthulhuTech (http://www.cthulhutech.com/)
i do not know if it has been translated in russian

- and KULT, a modern horror game with mystic background (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kult), first published in Sweden in 1990s. with little adaptation, you can do it in a "future" world. I did play such way, and it was really great.

- for the "space-op", you can use FADING SUNS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fading_Suns), in a "dark" and horror way.

bye,
Jezabel
