Отрывать ПДФ в браузере - не лучшая мысль.

Не знаю, последнее время я открываю их в хроме и все ок. Сравнимо с фокситом, только победнее с точки зрения инструментов.

В браузерах обычно подгружается плагин от адоб-акробата. В редких случаях от фоксита. Я натравливаю гуглдокс. А хром тоже теперь это делает автоматом?

Насколько я понимаю, Chrome вообще изначально был задуман как application to end all applications.

Нет в этом мире щастья. А именно - нормальной читалки для двухмониторных конфигов. Так что вот. Кто видел - кидайте линки

А хром, да, умеет нативно открывать пдфы. Только всё равно это чревато всяким - они там с памятью траблы никак не поборят.

The way that we've thought about this for a while is if you read the Chrome OS blog post that we did in July, and you read the Chrome browser blog post that we did in September in 2008, they're very similar. They're essentially the same thing. And the reason is because when we were building Chrome the browser, we realized that everyone is spending their time online. So essentially we were trying to build something that mimics this operating system feel—there's a task manager in Chrome, and that was one of the early additions to Chrome.

In the long term, we think of Chromium as a tabbed window manager or shell for the web rather than a browser application. We avoid putting things into our UI in the same way you would hope that Apple and Microsoft would avoid putting things into the standard window frames of applications on their operating systems.
